Anthony, the third of six children of August Dontanville and Melanie Duffner, was born in Pasadena January 4, 1898. In the mid 1920s Anthony married Lauretta Agnes McMahon. Lauretta was born in Illinois to John McMahon and Mary Finnell who had immigrated to the United States from Ireland. Three sons were born to their marriage Anthony David, August, and Albert. Their order of birth is not known. Anthony was born in Pasadena March 22, 1933. He worked as a gardener and never married. He died in Covina, California October 10, 1999. August is believed to have lived near Long Beach. His date of birth and marital status are not known. Albert is believed to have been a pool consultant in San Rafael.
