Albert, the first of second children of August Dontanville and Melanie Duffner, was born in Pasadena March 22, 1896. He was ordained a Catholic Priest in the early 1920s and served in the San Diego Diocese. Patricia Ann Bragg, a niece, recalled that Father Dontanville had authored a history of the Dontanville family. She at one time had a copy that she gave to her Aunt Anna Byrd. The whereabouts of that history is unknown. Farther Albert Dontanville died in San Bernardino County December 2, 1942.
