Lester Benoit, the fourth child of Mary Ann Dondanville and Lester Benoit, was born in Serena Township, LaSalle County, Illinois July 3, 1868. He was six when the family moved to Webster County, Iowa in 1874. Lester was married in Clare, Iowa to Catherine Agnes Hood, the sixth child of Thomas Hood and Bridget Molloy on April 2, 1893. In November of 1893 Clara Benoit married Catherine's brother Edward Hood.

Lester farmed South West of Clare in Humbolt Township. This researcher has no knowledge as to whether there were any children born to their marriage. Catherine died November 14, 1958 in Fort Madison, Iowa. Lester's date and place of death are not known.
