Henry, the fourth child of Felix Dondeville and Margaret Schmidt, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, October 11, 1866. . He married Augusta Humbert in the early 1890s. The date and place of that marriage is not known. The 1888-1890 St. Louis Directories listed Henry's occupation as fireman and his address as 2312 South 10th Street. This was one block from the home of his brother August. A son Harry was born April 9, 1890. 1869. A daughter Augusta Humbert Dondeville was born July 25, 1892. In 1920 Henry's occupation was recorded as vulcanizer at a tire company. Cemetery records indicate that Henry died in May 1929 and Augusta in December 1952.
Cemetery records document that Henry and his son Harry jointly acquired a cemetery lot in 1916. Harry's first wife Adela Spindler, was interred in that lot in November 1916, one week after the birth of a son, Harry Jr., on November 21, 1916. Following the death of Adela, Harry Jr. lived briefly with his grandparents.
By 1920 Harry Sr. was remarried to Lena, whose maiden name is unknown. Lena had a son Oliver by a previous marriage. In the early 1920s Harry Jr. returned to his father's home and was raised by Lena. Harry Sr. Dondeville died in St. Louis, November 8, 1964. His second wife Lena died March 19, 1976. Harry Jr's. son Dennis and his children continue to live in St. Louis at this writing.
Augusta Humbert Dondeville, daughter of Henry and Augusta, married John Henry Boch in St. Louis, March 12, 1918. A daughter Anita was born in St. Louis in 1922. While Max's obituary lists his status as widower, Boch family descendants believe that Augusta may have lived until 1952. Her daughter, Augusta Humbert Boch, died in St. Louis on February 27, 1958.
